Of course, the Grand Canyon (north and south rims), Zion and Bryce National Parks and Monument Valley are all a 2-1/2 hour one-way drive - perfect for a day trip. The Grand Canyon South Rim welcomes more visitors than the North Rim and offers the most amenities and attractions in lodging, dining, tours, view points and family-friendly experiences. It is also open year round. The North Rim is quieter and more remote and offers fewer services. It has less tourists and is suited for more outdoor minded enthusiasts. It is a higher elevation than the South Rim and therefore, offers cooler temperatures. It can receive heavy snow fall in the winter and is only open mid-May through mid-October. Zion National Park offers sandstone cliffs, spectacular arches, narrow slot canyons and intermittent waterfalls.
